We are not using the groups.coda and user.coda files (since 5.0.0 or
something). Use the pdbtool to add/remove users. If you really want to
edit an /etc/passwd style file, the pdbtool has export and import
commands to dump and read a similar fileformat. But you probably
shouldn't simply import an existing /etc/passwd because you'll lose the
System:Administrators etc. groups.

The `Coda user and system administration manual' is seriously out of
date on many points. The more up-to-date reference is probably the
Coda-HOWTO, although that one is still missing sections on backups and
user administration.

I hope that if you set up a production system, you won't have to get
stuck debugging code :)
