Do you happen to have the venus.cache directory in a reiserfs partition?

I figured out the reason for the 0-length files. The metadata is
journalled when the filehandle is closed, and not when the inode is
released, so any writes through the Coda kernel module are 'lost'. I
think I've got a fix and hope I can get around to testing it out soon.
