Hi,

[Disclaimer: this is a crosspost to both the codalist
and one of the OpenOffice lists. I'm not sure where
 exactly the problem is located]

Systems are SuSe 7.0 using various kernels,
libc 2.1.3 coda 5.3.17 and Sun StarOffice German Beta

We just tried StarOffice6.0
and it works sort of.

setup /net seems to work,
but the user setup afterwards
won't work on a 2.4.6 nor 2.4.16 kernel,
whereas 2.2.x and 2.4.2 are fine.

Installing to an ext2 on the 2.4.6
machine was flawless.

The program dies with a segv,
and strace gives a

        lstat("/coda/vol/staroffice6/Office60/program/../../..",
                        {st_mode=S_IFDIR|0755, st_size=2048, ...}) = 0
        lseek(5, 0, SEEK_CUR) = 0
        getdents(5, /* 25 entries */, 7865) = 440
        lseek(5, 0, SEEK_CUR) = 512
        getdents(5, /* 0 entries */, 7865) = 0
        --- SIGSEGV (Segmentation fault) ---
        +++ killed by SIGSEGV +++

The responsible OpenOffice code could be
in file

        http://udk.openoffice.org/source/browse/porting/sal/rtl/source/uri.c

at the bottom in function:

Program received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault.
        0x4022faa4 in rtl_uriDecode () from /coda/.../libsal.so.3

Any ideas ?
Yours,
Steffen
