unfortunately I was not able to help myself with a problem according to
user authentication in Coda by reading all the previous mails.
Our testbed:
- 2 machines (sunsite = the server, darksite = the client)
- Mandrake Linux 8.2. (Kernel: 2.4.18-6)
- rpc2-1.13-1
- portmap-4.0-18
- compat-libstdc++-2.8.0-3cl
- rvm-1.6-1
- rvm-tools-1.6-1
- coda-debug-backup-5.3.19-1
- coda-debug-server-5.3.19-1
- coda-debug-client-5.3.19-1
The installation was successful. The auth2, codasrv, rpc2portmap,
updatesrv and updatelnt servers are running.
the problem:
After creating a new user account (codauser1) with pdbtool the
activating procedure seems to fail:
[root@darksite /]# au -h sunsite nu
Your Vice name: codaadmin
Your password: *****************
RPC2_Bind() --> RPC2_SUCCESS
Vice User: codauser1
New password: newpassword
New info: our first test user in coda
AuthNewUser() --> AUTH_SUCCESS
[root@darksite /]# cpasswd codauser1
Changing password for codauser1
Your password: newpassword
New password for codauser1: newpasswd
Retype new password: newpasswd
bind failed; user unauthenticated
What's the problem? I do not have any idea about ...
Would be very nice if someone could help me.
