Hmm, the configure script ends with this error:
configure: error: "unable to find rp2gen. try --with-lwp option"
This rp2gen seems to be something coda specific, isn't it?

Though I don't know which rpms you mean, I will list some:
- - From coda.cs.cmu.edu:
coda-debug-server-5.3.20-1.i386.rpm (the one for RH8.0)
rpc2-1.14-1.i386.rpm (for RH8.0, too)
- - From rawhide.redhat.com:
glibc-2.3.1-6.i386.rpm
compat-db-3.3.11-3.i386.rpm

libdb-4.0.so => /lib/libdb-4.0.so (0x40041000)
libreadline.so.4 => /usr/lib/libreadline.so.4 (0x400e9000)
libtermcap.so.2 => /lib/libtermcap.so.2 (0x40115000)
libc.so.6 => /lib/libc.so.6 (0x40119000)
/lib/ld-linux.so.2 => /lib/ld-linux.so.2 (0x40000000)

Sounds like a lot of voodoo to me, but if it helps... ;-)
I attached prot-{index,users}.db
Ciao
