Apologies for duplication****** The Music Library Association's Music Discovery Requirements Update Task Force seeks comments on the Music Discovery Requirements Version 2 (2017) draft. The Music Discovery Requirements (MDR) "explore discovery needs specific to and especially important for music materials, particularly scores and recordings." If you leave your comments on the google doc while logged into a google account or you add your name to the comment, we will be able to follow up with you directly for any needed clarification, etc. Comment deadline: August 7, 2017. The first edition of the Music Discovery Requirements was released in May 2012 with the endorsement of the Music Library Association (MLA) Board of Directors and is available at: http://www.musiclibraryassoc.org/?page=mdr The Music Discovery Requirements Update Task Force, formed at the request of MLA's Emerging Technologies and Services Committee (ETSC) and Cataloging and Metadata Committee (CMC) is charged to: Update the Music Discovery Requirements, with particular focus on: RDA updates; MARC updates; incorporating LCGFT and LCMPT, and updating appendices B & C (appendix A will be dropped.) Strongly consider creating an HTML version, and evaluate whether a pdf version needs to be retained. Set a mechanism in place for ongoing revisions to the MDR.
