The Application Support Systems Librarian provides extraordinary customer 
experiences and professional computer programming skills facilitating the 
forward movement of the Libraries and Universities Strategic Initiatives in a 
model 21st century urban research university.

What you bring...
Requirements: Master's degree in library and/or information science from an 
ALA-accredited program or a related graduate degree. Computer literate and 
technologically adept. Proficiency in MS Office Suite, specifically Outlook, 
Word, and Excel. Proficiency in Windows Operating System and file management or 
the equivalent experience.

Preferred: Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Science, or another 
technology-based discipline. Two (2) years of experience in an academic library 
setting; experience with software comprising a "LAMP" stack that supports 
applications and web servers (i.e. Linux/Unix operating system, Apache HTTP 
server, MySQL/PostgreSQL/etc. database, Perl/Python/PHP programming language). 
Experience with current Microsoft operating systems (e.g. Windows 10); working 
knowledge of computer networking technologies, the Internet, web technologies 
(e.g. HTML and CSS); knowledge of scripting languages and other pertinent 
software, e.g. Perl, Python, PHP, Java, SQL; and knowledge of current 
developments in library applications of information technologies. Experience 
designing, managing, and delivering custom software application projects within 
in time, cost, and scope constraints. Ability to innovatively use technology 
and evidence-based decision-making practices to resolve complex technical 
issues.
Supervisory experience. Advanced knowledge of scripting and programming 
languages necessary for the development and support of library applications. 
Advanced knowledge of the Linux operating system. Ability to foster a positive 
working environment and model the Libraries' values through daily actions and 
behaviors. Advanced project planning and management skills. Effective time 
management skills. Ability to work collegially and collaboratively with people 
of diverse backgrounds. Advanced customer experience skills. Ability to 
communicate effectively, including excellent interpersonal skills as well as 
verbal and written skills. Ability to pay attention to detail. Ability to 
transfer and apply knowledge and experience to new situations. Ability to excel 
in a "perpetual beta" environment, with frequent change and intelligent 
risk-taking.
