The Lebanon Public Libraries are seeking to hire an IT Librarian.

The salary range is $1109.20 - $1497.36 per week for this exempt full-time
position, with excellent benefits. Starting salary will be commensurate with
qualifications and experience. Lebanon is an equal opportunity employer.

Who we’d like to hire

The IT Librarian is required to have an MLIS. If you have experience supporting
library computer systems, coding experience, and experience with AWS or a
similar cloud environment those are all points in your favor. We really like
people who are creative and are not afraid to try new things to make our
library services better. This role has a high degree of autonomy and will help
influence the direction of the Lebanon Public Libraries in the future.

What the job would be like for you

As our IT Librarian, you’ll be responsible for the management of the library's
computer infrastructure. This includes public and staff workstations, staff
laptops, chromeOS devices and our AWS infrastructure. You will work closely
with our Systems Librarian to plan for future technology needs for the library.
You will work regularly scheduled public service desk hours and are highly
encouraged to do patron programming related to your interests and professional
expertise. Managing our library computer systems will be your primary role, but
our library will give you a good deal of autonomy to work on things that are
interesting to you, even if they are outside of your officially defined job
role.

About our community

Our library system is well supported by the community and consists of two
libraries. The Kilton Public Library in West Lebanon opened in 2010 and was a
Library Journal New Landmark Libraries Honorable Mention. The Lebanon Library
in Lebanon is a Carnegie library built in 1909 with a 1985 addition. All
library staff work at both locations. Governed by a board of trustees, the
libraries are city funded with a 1.3 million dollar budget. We are also
supported by a library foundation. As an institution that values both privacy
and innovation, we were the first public library system in the U.S. to host a
Tor exit node.

Lebanon is home to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, and Dartmouth College is
located in neighboring Hanover. Marketwatch and livability.com have profiled
Lebanon as one of America’s best small towns. Lebanon has views of the White
Mountains, yet is less than a two-hour drive to the New Hampshire seacoast and
Boston.
