Good afternoon, Code4Lib Folks! For the last 5-ish years, I've been acting as the maintainer for the Code4Lib Journal, which is hosted on Wordpress. My role at work has shifted slightly and while it's an exciting possibility, it means I really can't continue to act as a site maintainer. Because of the setup with iBiblio, it's a bit more involved than normal Wordpress maintenance. It doesn't require a command line expert, but the person stepping in should have some basic familiarity with the terminal and using SFTP/SCP and should be willing to learn more as needed.
Responsibilities would be: * monitoring the plugins/core site code for necessary updates * running periodic backups/cleaning out the spam queue * working with C4L Editorial Board to keep on top of issues * determining whether we need to new plugins, especially re: antispam * if bugs/hacks/downtimes occur, either fixing them or working with others to fix them * putting in tickets with iBiblio for server-level issues as necessary. If you have time/capacity/etc. there are other kinds of improvements which could be made up to migrating the entire site. While I've aspired to do some of these, the most I could reasonably pull off was adding code for Google Scholar in the site head and making the Wordpress theme responsive. I've created documentation based on all the notes I have for myself and a review of what I normally do and I'm happy to work with the new person on transition. Thanks for considering it, Ruth Additional context: There aren't auto-updates or and it can't auto-detect what's out-of-date. This means you're mostly working via SFTP/SCP (I use an SCP client). You'll need to run backups by SSHing into the server and running a backup script, then downloading backup zips to your computer. There's also a few helpful SQL commands I've documented for things like getting rid of all spam comments via the terminal vs. the Wordpress interface. It's also not too hard to manage, it just requires regular attention. My working day may not be your working day.
