Apologies for cross-posting. Please share broadly! The RDAP Association Education and Resources Committee is pleased to announce the following free webinar on November 15, 1-2 pm PST/4-5 pm EST:
Sustainability of Data Curation Services Presenters: Jo Klein - UNC Greensboro, Clara Llebot - Oregon State University, and Jordan Wrigley - University of Colorado Boulder Research culture is changing with regard to data sharing practices and expectations. Increased data sharing expectations among funders, publishers, and researchers themselves has led to a corresponding increase in the numbers of datasets submitted annually to subject specific data repositories as well as general purpose repositories hosted by academic libraries. The current rate of growth in dataset submissions is an issue for data management and curation services that may not have the capacity to hire additional curation professionals or stand up new infrastructure. The RDAP Association has invited three speakers to participate in a panel focused on successful strategies for increasing levels of service from current capacity levels to curate and publish more and/or higher quality data. The panel will include brief presentations of concrete success stories, together with breakout discussions focused on the conditions that are necessary for specific strategies to succeed. Register for free in advance for this webinar: https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZEscOGrqDspE9TmdazjZZ0Vutaylmjske9V After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting. The webinar will also be recorded for those interested in watching it at a later date.
