The UConn Library seeks an innovative and collaborative Repository Manager for 
our Digital Preservation Repository Program (DPRP).  Reporting to the Digital 
Preservation Repository Program Director, the Repository Manager collaborates 
with colleagues and participants in creating and setting development priorities 
for the DPRP program, for general administration and program planning for the 
DPRP-whose public programs are known under the brand Connecticut Digital 
Archive (CTDA) and serves as the principal point of contact between CTDA 
content managers and the repository.  The CTDA is a statewide digital 
preservation and access program that serves more than 80 institutions across 
Connecticut, manages more than 3 million digital objects, and is Connecticut's 
Service Hub for the Digital Public Library of America. The CTDA participates in 
national and international conversations relating to digital preservation and 
digital library services.
Along with all UConn Library personnel, Repository Manager will demonstrate

Responsibilities


  *   Collaborates with Unit Head to create and set program development 
priorities
  *   Acts as principal point of contact between content managers and the 
repository program
  *   Collaborates with technical staff, vendors, and stakeholders to develop 
and implement technology enhancement projects
  *   Configures and maintains user-facing tools and pages as appropriate in 
conjunction with technical staff
  *   Creates and implements information architecture of user-facing pages and 
services
  *   Creates and implements trainings, workshops, and facilitates meetings for 
stakeholders
  *   Maintains documentation relating to program activities
  *   Leads development of metadata and content management standards and 
procedures, collaborating with stakeholders and technical staff as appropriate
  *   Filters and assigns problems in the ticketing system
  *   Completes content and user testing and approval for system upgrades
  *   Manages interns, graduate, and undergraduate students as needed
  *   Participates in Islandora interest groups as appropriate

Shared Expectations for Student Supervisors



  1.  Hires, schedules, trains, and supervises student employees.
  2.  Determines work assignments and provides feedback to each student 
employee.
  3.  Approves student timecards and resolves time reporting and/or student 
payroll issues in a timely manner.
  4.  Manages student employment budget, providing allocation requests and 
ensuring student payroll expenditures remain within approved budget.
  5.  Maintains current student employee personnel records.
  6.  Adheres to the policies and procedures as outlined in the UConn Library 
Student Employee Handbook and the UConn Student Employment Guide.

Minimum Qualifications for Appointment as a Librarian 2


  1.  A graduate degree in Library and Information Science from an American 
Library Association-accredited institution (or international equivalent), or a 
master's degree in a related field.
  2.  Minimum of three years related professional experience.
  3.  Experience working with digital library systems.
  4.  Demonstrated knowledge of and experience working with metadata and 
metadata schemas.
  5.  Proven public service skills with the ability to build and maintain 
collaborations.
  6.  Knowledge of the principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  7.  Record of active engagement in professional activities at a statewide, 
regional, and/or national level.

Additional Minimum Qualifications for Appointment as a Librarian 3


  1.  Minimum of six years related professional experience.
  2.  Record of significant contributions in professional activities at a 
statewide, regional, and/or national level.

Preferred Qualifications for both Appointments


  1.  Demonstrated experience working with Drupal/Islandora/Fedora digital 
repository systems.
  2.  Demonstrated experience supervising student employees or professional 
staff.
  3.  Demonstrated knowledge of scripting languages such as Python.
  4.  Demonstrated experience managing complex projects involving multiple 
stakeholders.
