Johnson County Library seeks an Integrated Library System Administrator to fill 
a position vacated by a recent retirement.

This position is responsible for the overall administration and management of 
the Integrated Library System (ILS) and its integration with other systems 
supporting excellent library services. The ILS is a complex system that brings 
together multiple functions, including acquisitions, serials, cataloging, 
circulation, and patron management. In addition, it is the primary system for 
tracking materials as they move through the Library processing cycle.



This posting will be open through 5:00 p.m. on June 24, 2022. Qualified 
applicants will remain as active candidates for a period of up to 90 days.



•             Manages daily operations of the Integrated Library System (ILS); 
acts as the primary contact for Integrated Library System vendor support; 
designs, develops, and maintains custom and canned reports that support the 
operation of the ILS; ensures that problems are fixed as they arise; monitors 
system and responds to system alerts; and supports Library and partner 
end-users performing administrative activities in the ILS.

•             Plans and coordinates upgrades, enhancements, and bug fixes for 
the integrated library system and Web catalog interface; tests, schedules, and 
performs upgrades, enhancements, and bug fixes; collaborates with public 
service staff and other departments to review and prepare for upgrades and bug 
fixes.

•             Collaborates with IT Team to maintain hosting environment for 
ILS; implements support and maintains compliance with Library security and 
privacy policies in the ILS and associated systems.

•             Designs, develops, tests and maintains custom code using a 
combination of tools including but not limited to Perl, HTML, proprietary APIs, 
SQL, and UNIX shell scripting..

•             Manages the integrations between ILS and other systems, including 
automated materials handling systems, self-checks, RFID pads, security gates, 
web catalog, interlibrary loan system.

•             Serves as the primary point of contact and is responsible for 
supporting other systems integrated with the ILS, such as interlibrary loans.
