Job Summary/Basic Function

James E. Walker library seeks a talented individual to work as a Web Developer 
in the Collections Development and Management department. The web developer 
provides the support and development of web applications for the library, 
focusing on the main library's website on LibGuides CMS, as well as the 
maintenance of related sites in content management systems, such as Drupal and 
WordPress. There may be additional opportunities to work with the library's 
integrated library system (FOLIO), discovery systems (VuFind, EBSCO Discovery 
Service), and other custom web projects.

This position requires knowledge of front-end and back-end development skills 
for web projects. The web developer will also possess strong technical 
problem-solving skills and demonstrated knowledge of current technologies.

Required Education

A bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in Information Systems, Computer 
Science, Engineering, Information Science, or a related field.

Required Related Experience

Minimum one (1) year experience with website project management; development in 
a LibGuides CMS, Drupal multisite environment, similar content management 
system; development with PHP, MySQL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript; responsive/mobile 
design; accessible design; user-centered design, usability testing; and 
cross-browser compatibility testing.
