Course 1:
* LIS 539: Metadata Design | Online Asynchronous
* Covers the application and design principles of metadata schemas for
resource collections, addressing syntactic and semantic interoperability.
Topics include user needs assessment, workflow design, and controlled
vocabulary usage. The course also explores ethical considerations, project
planning, decision-making, and future impact.
Course 2:
* LIS 587: Systems Librarianship | Online Asynchronous
* Focuses on understanding the diverse scope of work in systems
librarianship across various types of libraries. This includes areas such as
project management, vendor relations, integration of digital and e-resources,
and the use of open-source solutions. The course also delves into the
intersection of library technologies with matters of privacy, equity,
accessibility, and social justice.
