Briefly, the successful applicant will:


  *   Serve as a Systems Analyst and assist in Data Management and maintenance 
with a focus on Archives and Libraries collection management
  *   Serve as an Archival Systems and Data Analyst. In this capacity, the 
incumbent performs IT systems analysis and database management functions to 
support archival description metadata, workflows, metadata reuse, and retrieval 
of archival collection materials across Smithsonian units.
  *   Perform analysis on data mapping from multiple data sources, programs and 
implements data transformation for multiple data types including XML and 
JSON-LD, review data quality, and make recommendations for improvement.
  *   Provide project support in accordance with appropriate project management 
(PM) and system development life cycle management (LCM) principles; technical 
support in the selection, procurement, design, implementation, system 
administration, maintenance, and/or enhancement of advanced technology 
application systems, and projects.

The position is focused on archival systems, metadata, and outreach, primarily 
ArchivesSpace, so experience with that application (especially the API) is a
