In this capacity, the incumbent performs IT systems analysis and database management functions to support archival description metadata, workflows, metadata reuse, and retrieval of archival collection materials across Smithsonian units. * Perform analysis on data mapping from multiple data sources, programs and implements data transformation for multiple data types including XML and JSON-LD, review data quality, and make recommendations for improvement. * Provide project support in accordance with appropriate project management (PM) and system development life cycle management (LCM) principles; technical support in the selection, procurement, design, implementation, system administration, maintenance, and/or enhancement of advanced technology application systems, and projects. The position is focused on archival systems, metadata, and outreach, primarily ArchivesSpace, so experience with that application (especially the API) is a plus.
