Sweet Briar College seeks a dynamic, collaborative, innovative and service- oriented librarian to lead its Access Services Department. Reporting to the Director of Integrated Information Systems/CIO, the Access Services Librarianoversees all aspects of circulation, reserves, interlibrary loan, document delivery, facilities organization, technical services processing and resource sharing. S/he must have a strong commitment to public service (a patron-centered approach), expertise marketing library services and a vision for implementing creative services and ultilizing emerging technologies to meet the changing needs and expectations of our users. Must have Masters in Library/Information Sciencesand at least 2 years' experience, including supervisory experience.This is a full-time, 12-month position holding faculty rank but not tenure. Working under the direct supervision of the Associate Director in cooperation with all library faculty and staff, the Access Services Librarian will develop programs for providing and promoting access to the library's collections in all formats (including the development of policies, best practices, and assessment measures), and lead staff in a collegial fashion to rethink traditional practices and priorities as the instituion builds new library facilities.
