Thanks, this worked.  Aparrently the default NIC emulation hangs the
kernel during boot.

Because the Linux kqemu module and the Solaris kernel don't mix, it
tends to be slow.

Now I remember why I switched to Linux.
Many hundreds of lines of conditional-for-Solaris code in libexplain
were necessary, and AFAICT all of them non-POSIX.
