my disk filled up because there were several Gbyte of rrd files in /var/lib/rrdcached/db/collectd/.
i checked with lsof: no process had any files open in those folders. i had rrdcache running for a short time some time ago (by activating it in the collectd.conf), but disabled it again in the there. could it have been running in the meantime and create those rrd files? if that does not explain this - who creates rrd files in rrdcache/db/collectd ? i dont want that to happen. thanks for the help, andreas
