interesting, but it also sounds like it might be similar to the iowait
reported under cpu stats? to my knowledge that's not a very useful number
and I don't even include it in the cpu usage numbers. on the other hand if
it's something different, it could be useful.
the real problem is it's in yet another file and process monitoring already
accesses 4 different files and already getting pretty heavyweight. It would
also add a lot to the size of the raw file which is getting pretty big
already and can make playback times excessively long. the solution that
works for me is to have a new log created every hour to speed playback AND
to also generate the plot files so I can get the data I need for plotting
without having to wait many minutes.
as they say, your mileage may vary.
