Hello,
I'm trying to run Graphite as a daemon on a node in a computer cluster with
"DaemonCommands = --export graphite, localhost --all". However, the daemon
stops immediatly. I added the -m switch to receive some error messages and
I received the error "Error: -D requires -f OR -A server". I can start the
daemon using "DaemonCommands = --export graphite,localhost -f
/var/log/collectl --all -r00:00,7 -m --rawtoo", but this is not what I
want: no data should remain on the node. This command creates tar files in
the collectl directory.
This problem is similar to/the same as the error listed here:
https://sourceforge.net/p/collectl/discussion/696865/thread/d20b8991/.
Mark replied that "if you don't care about recording anything locally, just
remove " -f /var/log/collectl -r00:00,7 -m -F60" and only includle the
"-export graphite…" on that line." but this doesn't solve the issue: I just
encounter the same error that "daemon mode requires -f OR -A server".
How can I fix this problem? In short: I want to run collectl as a daemon,
export the data to a server running carbon without saving any data on my
local node.
Thanks in advance,
Tom Naessens
