Hello list members,

as I've told you a week ago I proposed some designs for OOo-pins at [email protected] and asked for a vote there.

Here are the results now (pins and descriptions can be seen at: http://www.familie-dippold.de/OOo_pins.html):

Even if there were only a few participants (just six people joined the voting) 50% of the voters preferred Pin D (logo on wire-gulls) as first and Pin B (logo on metal ground) as second choice. Pin B got one "first choice" vote as well, while Pin C (logo on light blue ground) got 1 1/2 vote (one voter couldn't decide between Pin A and Pin C).

So as result of this voting I would recommend to produce Pin D - with a price of about 0,30 Euro (0,25 US-$) plus VAT at 3000 pieces it's quite cheap.

But if you ask my personal preferences I'd propose another - though more expensive - way: Like Sophie I think it would be nice, if we had *two* qualities of pins: One (less expensive) as give-away at fairs (and the OOo-Con at Koper perhaps) and another more valuable one for project members and people giving some donations to us.

The problem is that especially the pins made of hard/synthetic enamel are quite expensive if you order a smaller amount.

One of my supplier has told me some prices for different amounts, so you can get an impression. Perhaps another supplier could be slightly cheaper, but most of the prices have been higher.

prices per pin in Euro without tax:

amount of pins: 500 1000 2000 3000

synthetic enamel 1,08 0,77 0,65 0,59
Offset printing 0,93 0,56 0,41 0,33

On [EMAIL PROTECTED] I was asked for the price of cufflinks.
They will cost 0,30 Euro per pin. They are not chained together but look like "normal" cufflinks with a small stick you can turn (My English is too poor to explain it better - just look at http://store1.yimg.com/I/cufflinkspremier_1858_4279205)

In my eyes an order with less than 1000 pins is not reasonable. So if we do the divided order every participant will count to reduce the price per pin. I ask all of you to pose the question in your nat-lang project if there are other project members willing to join us.

I'm quite sure that people earning their money distributing or supporting OOo could be interested in having such a small thing as give-away for their customers.

That's what I propose, but the decision will be made among all of us. Finally it will depend on your orders - and we don't have a lot of time, if we want to use the high quality pins at Koper.

So I'd like to discuss these topics until the weekend. Definite orders should be made as soon as possible, because the supplier mentioned above told me he would need 5 to 6 weeks for the order!

What do you think about it?

For orders I'll open a new thread - so we can discuss here and collect orders there.

Best regards

Bernhard
