Dear Native-Language Leads,
the OpenOffice.org 2.x has been a great release from the localization
perspective. More and more teams have set up translation teams who have
worked on updating the localization of their version on a regular basis
and have tested and approved the builds for distribution.
I really would like to see all this great work recognized in some way
:-)
I know that there are contributors who would like to receive
Certificates who acknowledge their localization work. Therefore, I am
asking all Native-Language project leads to help me gathering names and
addresses of all those who would like to receive a printed Certificate.
By addresses you mean phisical addresses right?
yes, the address where I can send the printed certificates.
Please send me directly an email with the subject - OpenOffice.org
Certificates for Localization Contributions - with the names and
addresses of the contributors.
Please feel also free to send me suggestions on how you would see OOo
contributors be recognized.
This is great work, recognizing developers, testers, localizators is a
great way to uplift the community.
I also have done something that I see the pseudo community of Novell's
Go-OO doing with their developers.
http://go-oo.org/developers/
and also KDE:
http://behindkde.org/people/
On OOoES we have done something similar doing this:
http://es.openoffice.org/lecturas/lecturas_0017.html
Thank you for the pointers. We should definitely leverage some ideas
from that.
Ego-Boo is one of the traditions of opensource and community spirit.
Feeding that egoboo is almost a garantee to re-inforce the strenght of
the community. Every community should have a strategy towards ego-boo.
Currently, the names of the contributors are listed at:
http://www.openoffice.org/welcome/credits.html but I am not sure how
updated the list is....
Rafaella
Thanks,
Rafaella
