I already alaborated on it years ago https://medium.com/apache-airflow/shared-volumes-in-airflow-the-good-the-bad-and-the-ugly-22e9f681afca - there are some unforeseen consequnces that you might not realise at first (including extremely high cost of shared volumes iops you will pay) due to the way how git sync assumes the volume it works on is local. Whether it should or shoes not be possible is not 0/1 answer.
