I've opened #74366 for the **HITL operator body** part of this issue (the XCom tab part is being handled in #74112). Root cause there: the body goes through `FlexibleForm`'s `flexFormDescription` → `ReactMarkdown`, where a single `\n` is a Markdown soft break and collapses to a space on render. The PR adds a small `remarkSoftBreaks` plugin and enables it only for the HITL body, so other Markdown rendering is unchanged.
