modal 1.6 turned `modal.sandbox` into a package and moved `_SandboxFilesystem` to `modal.sandbox._filesystem`. `TestVendorContract::test_the_calls_behind_the_tools_still_exist` imported it from `modal.sandbox`, so it fails with `ImportError` in any job that resolves the latest `modal` (seen in the provider Compat 3.x jobs, which installed 1.6.2). The test now imports from the new location and falls back to the old one for `modal` < 1.6, which the provider still allows (`modal>=1.5.2`).
