Status update: - **`main`** is fixed by #70961 (merged 2026-10-17). The unused-trigger DELETE now re-checks the asset, callback and task-instance references, which is the fix proposed in #72062 and the follow-up comment there. It is not in 3.4.0b2 yet. - **3.3.x** still has the unguarded MySQL DELETE. #75562 backports only that re-check to `v3-3-test`, without #70961's batching and new config option. Its regression test, run on MySQL in Breeze, loses the deferred task instance without the fix and keeps it with the fix. The original report said #72062 fixed some of the orphaned-task cases but not all.
