Thank you both for the review! I believe it's better to keep time bounds optional. Users can filter by partition, for example to get the latest event for a partition regardless of its creation date. I do not think we should require start or end bounds for this use case. I will document each bound’s use cases and tradeoffs, as Constance suggested, including its behavior when tasks are cleared.
