I think the bump of version was only due to the breaking change of the `sandbox` parameter and the drop support of older python versions. Yet looks like their change log is incomplete as it doesn't even mention the breaking change of the `sandbox` parameter. I would recommend to wait and see if there demand for such backport before investing the time. @potiuk I see that https://github.com/apache/airflow/pull/7775 is targeted for 1.10.10 so looks ok to me
