We can confirm the same behavior on 4.11.0 with both a Kafka source connector (Kafka-to-Kafka replication) and a RabbitMQ source connector. In both cases camel.source.pollingConsumerBlockWhenFull=true and camel.component.seda.defaultBlockWhenFull=true had no effect — messages were dropped with IllegalStateException: Queue full during bursts. Your analysis matches exactly what we observed. The patch looks like the right fix. As a workaround we disabled the SEDA queue entirely (camel.source.pollingConsumerQueueSize=0), which makes the consumer and producer thread run synchronously. No message loss since. The downside is no throughput buffer, but for our use case (same-cluster replication, minimal producer latency) that's acceptable. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
