Thanks for the detailed report, and sorry it took so long to get to the bottom of it. In Camel 4.4 and 4.8 the Kamelet component defaulted to `noErrorHandler=true`, which replaced the error handler of the internal Kamelet route where camel-https-kafka-connector applies `camel.error.handler`, `camel.error.handler.max.redeliveries` and `camel.error.handler.redelivery.delay`, so only one attempt was made; Camel 4.10 changed that default to `false` (see https://camel.apache.org/manual/camel-4x-upgrade-guide-4_10.html), so redelivery works again from camel-kafka-connector 4.10.2 onwards. On 4.22.0, a sink pointed at a server that always answers 400, with `camel.error.handler=default` and `camel.error.handler.max.redeliveries=3`, now sends the request four times before the record is reported as failed. Closing this as fixed; if you still see a single attempt on 4.22.x, please open a new issue with your connector configuration and the log. --- _Claude Code on behalf of Andrea Cosentino_ -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
