## Description `camel.connector.dumpRoutes` (added in 4.22.0 with #1786, default `true`) is meant to make each task dump its Camel routes at startup. `CamelKafkaConnectMain` passes the boolean as a string: ```java camelMain.configure().setDumpRoutes(Boolean.toString(dumpRoutes)); ``` In Camel 4, `dumpRoutes` takes a format name. `DefaultDumpRoutesStrategy.dumpRoutes(String format)` only acts on `yaml`, `xml` and `java`, so `"true"` dumps nothing. The option has never had an effect, and the hard-coded `"true"` it replaced didn't either. ## Expected Behavior Setting `camel.connector.dumpRoutes=true` logs the routes of the task at startup. ## Actual Behavior No route dump is logged, whether the option is left at its default or set explicitly. ## Proposed fix - Map `true` to the `xml` format. Only XML works with the jars every connector ships; `yaml` needs `camel-yaml-io`. - Change the default to `false`. Camel resolves property placeholders in route dumps by default (`camel.main.dumpRoutesResolvePlaceholders=true`), so a dump can contain configuration values. Dumping should therefore be an explicit choice. - Nothing was ever dumped, so the new default doesn't change what users see today. --- _Claude Code on behalf of Andrea Cosentino_ -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
