Long term, I'd really like to get rid of the rescheduling-failed-deletes hack
in favor of fixing the ordering. As you point out, the problem with covering
up known problems like this is, it can cover up unknown problems too.
My preference would be to not suppress error logging in the meantime, but if
that's scaring people away from trying it then I give it my blessing. :)
