Aleksey Yeschenko commented on CASSANDRA-8391: ---------------------------------------------- It does. This is how DefsTables#mergeSchema() works in 2.0. It does less queries in 2.1, since CASSANDRA-7444, and will do close to none after CASSANDRA-6038. That said, I don't see how this is a bug or an issue even for 2.0, now, other than making tracing of CREATE TABLE weird. > Create table command produces lot of selects from system tables > --------------------------------------------------------------- > > Key: CASSANDRA-8391 > URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CASSANDRA-8391 > Project: Cassandra > Issue Type: Bug > Components: Core > Environment: Linux 2.6.32-431.20.3.el6.x86_64 #1 SMP Thu Jun 19 > 21:14:45 UTC 2014 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux > java version "1.7.0_71" > Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.7.0_71-b14) > Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 24.71-b01, mixed mode) > [cqlsh 4.1.1 | Cassandra 2.0.10 | CQL spec 3.1.1 | Thrift protocol 19.39.0] > Reporter: Zdenek Ott > Attachments: create.log.gz > > > I traced simple 'create table' command and found that cassandra calls many > times "SELECT * FROM system.schema_columns" and "SELECT * FROM > system.schema_triggers". In my tracing log it is 132 and 66 times. I'm not > sure if it is tracing issue or 'create table' issue, but the result is weird. -- This message was sent by Atlassian JIRA (v6.3.4#6332)
