Well, not really. It's true that thrift {{KEYS}} index will look a lot like
static column indexes post-CASSANDRA-8099, but there is details pertaining to
thrift support that make {{KEYS}} index their own special case. In practice,
the branch for CASSANDRA-8099 already has the code for {{KEYS}} index so this
is not strictly speaking a blocker. It's probable however that the patch for
this will be fairly similar to (and might even reuse most parts of) the
{{KEYS}} index code (which is not big in the first place).
