Hi [~benedict], thank you for taking the time to improve the burn test, it's in 
much better shape now.

I've integrated all your suggestions, which do make a lot of sense, and 
rebased. I made a couple of changes, nothing of significance, last two commits 
on the branch.

All tests are good, CI results:
