Stu Hood updated CASSANDRA-1870:
--------------------------------

    Attachment: 0001-Split-gzip-out-for-release-tarballs-which-apparently-a.txt

Splitting gzipping out of the tar task and moving it after RAT execution is
significantly faster, with (almost) identically sized output files. I suspect
that native execution is triggered somehow, in addition to the fact that RAT
doesn't have to decompress to walk the files.

> The tar+gz combo takes a restrictively long time to execute. We'd like to
> make a release tarball a dependency for CASSANDRA-1859, but adding 8+ minutes
> to each execution is not feasible.
