Aleksey Yeschenko commented on CASSANDRA-6434:
----------------------------------------------

The changes to Thrift should most definitely be reverted.

There is no point in migrating the option in {{LegacySchemaMigrator}} - it's a
new 3.0 feature, it will never ever be present in old schema.

And the option probably belongs to compaction params, not as a standalone thing.

> Since the reason for gcgs is to ensure that we don't purge tombstones until
> every replica has been notified, it's redundant in a world where we're
> tracking repair times per sstable (and repairing frequentily), i.e., a world
> where we default to incremental repair a la CASSANDRA-5351.
