It would be ideal if the conflicting timestamp cases were parameterized in the 
same way it's done for partial updates by the excellent

of these cases, it could be helpful to keep the two simple examples we have in 
this ticket because they are very easy to read, and might be handy when trying 
new cases. For example, the timestamp case looks built by slightly modifying
