I added changes to Claude's PR in my PR here

I run CI and it looks good but there is one test which fails:
org.apache.cassandra.distributed.test.SSTableCompressionTest
configChangeIsolation
What that test does is that it tries to verify the following scenario:
1) create a table with some default compressor (e.g. LZ4)
2) restart a node but change the default compressor to e.g. Deflate
3) check that the table created in 1) with LZ4 will still continue to use LZ4
As the test shows, it will start to use Deflate instead. I am trying to fix
this.
