Bret McGuire commented on CASSJAVA-139:
---------------------------------------
JAVA-2956 is quite old at this point but the basic idea still seems valid. The
list above is still a reasonably complete first step; we can always flesh it
out later as things move along.
The other thing I'll mention is that graal-cassandra-driver is quite old at
this point (and hasn't been actively maintained) so it's utility in this space
is probably marginal at best. It might perhaps provide some pointers to future
implementations but as a useful tool in itself it has basically no value.

> Lifted version of
> [JAVA-2956|https://datastax-oss.atlassian.net/browse/JAVA-2956]. Original
> description follows:
> We currently test GraalVM native image generation with the following projects:
> * @Bret McGuire's
> [graal-cassandra-driver|https://github.com/absurdfarce/graal-cassandra-driver]
> * The Cassandra Quarkus extension
> It would be much better to have a set of IT tests exercising native images,
> pretty much like the OSGi integration tests.
> We could/should test:
> * Inclusion / exclusion of dependencies:
> ** Reactive
> ** Jackson
> ** Compression with LZ4
> * Custom impls of driver interfaces
> * DSE features
> ** Dse Graph with Tinkerpop
> ** Geotypes with ESRI
> * Shaded jar
