Alexandre Viau commented on CASSANDRA-21595:
--------------------------------------------
Hey [~erickramirezau],
Thanks for the initial review!
The patch applies cleanly on 5.0, 6.0 and trunk.
MRs:
- 5.0: https://github.com/apache/cassandra/pull/5047
- 6.0: https://github.com/apache/cassandra/pull/5224
- Trunk: https://github.com/apache/cassandra/pull/5225
Not sure if I did it correctly, but I marked "Fix Versions" in Jira as "5.0.x,
6.0.x, 7.0". I assume the process is to change the ".x" to the exact versions
after we merge.
Let me know if I can do anything else :)

> The only documenation available on `reset_bootstrap_progress` is the
> following:
> > In order to cleanup bootstrap state and start fresh, you may set the JVM
> > startup flag -Dcassandra.reset_bootstrap_progress=true.
> This gives the impression that if I don't want to start fresh, I should not
> do anything. However, this is false. If I want my node to resume bootstraping
> with existing data, I need to set it to `false`, which is different than the
> default of `unset`.
> I think this is impossible to infer from existing documentation. Only reading
> source code helped me understand.
