I haven't had a chance to do much more than skim through the code, but it looks
great so far; Nice work
One suggestion I'd like to throw out there though, is that we use this as an
opportunity to get rid of our custom authentication/authorization, and add
hooks for SASL instead. This isn't a wheel we should have reinvented
ourselves, and SASL would provide a simple means of integrating with a lot of
different systems.
