0.5ms is a much higher delay than you should expect for handing work off to 
another thread, however I don't see how moving the UDF evaluation to another 
thread helps you stop the work it's doing. It does help interrupt the user's 
query more quickly, but the work of the query is still ongoing, so interrupting 
it from the user's perspective would be misleading.
