Mike Beckerle commented on DAFFODIL-2274:
-----------------------------------------
Marking as beginner. Taking an existing test that has
separatorSuppressionPolicy="never" but omits the separator is suitable.
Seeing what the "unclear diagnostic" is may lead to a relatively easy fix, or
it may result in adding a bunch of details to this ticket and removing the
beginner label.
> Unclear diagnostic when separatorSuppressionPolicy="never" and separator
> missing.

> See test testSeparatorSuppressionNeverBadDiagnostic, added to illustrate the
> problem.
> The problem is that the diagnostic mentions the missing element, but the
> element is supposed to be allowed to be missing. The fact that no separator
> is found corresponding to it , which is how ssp="never" works, .... well
> there is no diagnostic mentioning the separator.
