------------------------------------------------------------
Well that's not the weakness of the W3C DDR client, it is the way services are
instanciated, but defining popular classes of builders not for a vendor like
"Samsung" but at least for Android, etc. makes sense. If you do this in a
"giant parser" the code may be less maintainable, otherwise you'll end up
having to do the same thing the "mature" client already does in a slightly
different form. See above builder;-)
We will never be able to maintain every single patch and change to devices and
OS in our data, even if Thousands of people were to contribute. The UA gets
updated automatically when the device does, so not using it will remain a
drawback of this client not only compared to the DeviceMap W3C one, but all
major competitors.

> Android 5 not recognized on Nexus 7
> -----------------------------------
>
> Key: DMAP-105
> URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/DMAP-105
> Project: DeviceMap
> Issue Type: Bug
> Components: Device data, Java Client
> Affects Versions: 1.0.1 Data, 1.1.0 Java
> Environment: Android 5 Lollipop. Google Nexus 7
> Reporter: Werner Keil
> Labels: android, device, useragent
>
> After the recent update to Android 5 (L) my Nexus 7 tablet is still said to
> use Android 4.2 by DM (Java Client) though the UA clearly contains the string
> "Android 5.0".
> Will try to attach exact UA string if I can from the device. It is likely not
> the only one, but at least Android is kind enough to tell the exact OS
> version.
