The compaction suite's SHOW DATA waiter spends one of five attempts whenever size changes. With five asynchronous size updates, it can time out after 75 seconds even though the nominal budget is 300 seconds and the final value has not yet had its required stable period. Separate the total elapsed-time budget from the stability window in this one waiter. Every size change or missing observation resets stability; success requires a complete 60-second window at a non-origin value, within the existing 300-second maximum. SQL errors and malformed/nonfinite sizes fail. The subsequent full-compaction calls and size assertions are unchanged. Validation: the complete edited suite compiles with JDK 8 / Groovy 4.0.19. Twelve deterministic tests execute the actual closure with a fake monotonic clock and SQL observations: the original reproduces the five-change timeout at 75 seconds, while the corrected waiter accepts the same sequence after 130 seconds; continuous change, unchanged origin, missing data, SQL errors, malformed values, and elapsed SQL time are covered. `git diff --check` passes. This does not cancel a synchronous SQL call already in progress; its existing client timeout still applies. No live regression or compaction rerun has been performed. The candidate binary is unchanged; normal publication and a targeted terminal rerun remain required. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
