a2l007 commented on issue #6057: Broker sends sequential requests to the historical for union queries URL: https://github.com/apache/incubator-druid/issues/6057#issuecomment-421410353 I got a chance to investigate this further and looks like the `UnionQueryRunner` itself sequentially processes the queries and so if we have a union datasource with datasources A and B, the query for datasource B is issued to historicals only after the query for datasource A is materialized. To fix this, using the `AsyncQueryRunner` within the UnionQueryRunner is one of the approaches I'm looking at.
