I'm going to investigate this on the current version and compare it with the
original fiddle. The fiddle updates item colors through a normal `setOption({
series: [{ data }] })` call, without removing nodes or using `notMerge`.
I'll compare stable node IDs, node removal and merge modes, and check the
existing `sunburstRootToNode` action with real browser navigation. I will
report the reproduction and state-management boundaries first; whether
drilldown should be preserved automatically across rebuilt data still needs
clarification.
