### Version main branch ### Describe what's wrong `JobManager.replacePlaceholder` passes job-template replacement values straight to `Matcher.appendReplacement`, which treats `$` and `\` in the replacement string as group references and escapes. A `jobConf` value like `cost=$5` crashes `runJob` with `IndexOutOfBoundsException` (no such group), and `p$1x` silently substitutes the placeholder key itself while backslashes are consumed. Job-template placeholders are documented as literal substitution. ### How to reproduce Submit a job whose template value contains a `$` followed by a digit, for example `cost=$5`. `runJob` fails with `IndexOutOfBoundsException: No group 5`. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
