Optaplanner is not a registered trademark ( unlike Drools & jBPM ), but trademarks do not always need to be. Some background for @bproffitt Timefold is a fork of Optaplanner. The thing to note is that KIE community has not decided to give up on Optaplanner at this moment. So even when it is debatable if we still work on it or not ( we only release and update dependencies, no bug fixes or features for years ), the optaplanner.io page communicates a decision on behalf of KIE community that we have not officially made. Now what to do with it? Do we really want to move it? Or fix the communication issues and keep it as it is as a wayback machine? I intentionally left it out. There are no Optaplanner devs, I took over the move. Moved the minimum. The problem we have is that there needs to be someone to maintain these things and if you take a look at our website and documentation git history, you get a good picture of how many devs are working on this area.
